DESCRIPTION

Renaissance first catches the eye with its knight. Its spectacular, elaborately carved mane gives the figure remarkable movement and expression. The red of padauk and the lightness of boxwood extend this work across the pieces, like a group of sculptures brought together on the board.

Triple weighting gives the pieces a substantial feel in the hand to match their sculptural presence. The dyed ash-burr and maple board echoes their tones, with reflections that highlight the design. In the Signature Collection, Renaissance places the richness of carving, particularly its knight, at the heart of the set.
