    DESCRIPTION

    Origine — Mammoth Ivory Edition

Limited to five individually numbered sets, Origine reflects Les Échiquiers du Roi’s exploration of remarkable materials and skilled craftsmanship. Understated, slender lines give the mammoth-ivory inlays their presence.

Preserved for millennia, the ivory is stabilised in Denmark, selected and cut in Thiers, then carefully shaped near Paris by J. F. Bosse, an artisan specialising in small decorative objects and turning. An ancient material transformed into an object designed to last for generations.

    ORIGINE EDITION
Origine forms part of the brand’s ongoing exploration of materials and exceptional craftsmanship. Produced in an extremely limited series, this collection embodies our most radical vision of durability: creating an object today from a material that is thousands of years old, itself designed to endure for generations.

Born from an exacting study of material and permanence, its pieces are distinguished by mammoth ivory inlays, highlighted through restrained, sculptural and deliberately refined forms that give the material its full presence.

    Preserved by Time

Preserved for millennia in the Alaskan permafrost, fragments of mammoth ivory are gradually revealed by river erosion and the excavation of the frozen ground.

    Made Solid

In Denmark, mammoth ivory fragments are first stabilised under high pressure in a high-quality resin, transforming them into a solid, workable block.
