Les Échiquiers du Roi have the honour of presenting the Chevalerie Chess Set, a noble piece that evokes the grandeur of tournaments past.

Inspired by the chivalric tradition, this set pays tribute to the balance between strength and refinement. It captivates with the purity of its contrasts, the precision of its craftsmanship, and the majestic presence of its pieces.

The board, handmade in Europe, combines three carefully selected woods: ebony, poplar and stained maple. It offers a 19.1 x 19.1 in (50 x 50 cm) playing surface built around a perfectly legible black-and-beige chequerboard. Fine, dark borders frame the whole with distinction. The marquetry—remarkably delicate—is enhanced by a matt finish that showcases the grain without excessive shine.

The pieces, carved from natural boxwood and solid ebony (Diospyros ebenum), demonstrate highly precise workmanship. Their silhouette is classic, yet their rendering feels contemporary: clean, restrained and purposeful. The king stands at 3.75 in (9.5 cm) within a harmonious set of 34 balanced pieces, weighted and felted for impeccable playing comfort. The deep black of ebony contrasts powerfully with the natural clarity of boxwood, creating a strong and refined graphic dialogue.
