This model is built around a timeless contrast: the intensity of ebony and the luminous softness of boxwood. Its silhouette, inspired by the Staunton tradition, is sober and confident—designed for serious play and for those who appreciate well-balanced proportions.

The pieces are hand-carved from natural boxwood and solid ebony (Diospyros ebenum). Each figure is weighted and felted for stable, silent movement, and the king stands at 9.5 cm within a harmonious set of 34 pieces.

The board, handmade in Europe, combines ebony, poplar and stained maple. Its black-and-beige marquetry is crisp and perfectly legible, enhanced by a matte finish that brings out the wood’s grain while limiting reflections. With its 50 × 50 cm format, it offers a generous playing field, ideal for regular play.
