The Spirit and the Legend
Created by two enthusiasts of art and chess, our brand's name echoes a forgotten legend. Les Échiquiers du Roi, meaning "The King's Chessboards" in English, tells the tale of a traveling monarch and passionate collector. Throughout his journeys and encounters, this king assembled an extraordinary collection of chess sets, each showcasing meticulous craftsmanship and sumptuous aesthetics.
Although this collection remains a legend, it inspired our founders with a vision.
Thus, Les Échiquiers du Roi was born, a vibrant homage to this royal collection lost in the mists of time, brought to life by our founders' interpretation.
The Symbol
The king in his parade, with a proud chin and dignified posture holding his scepter high, represents our brand's emblematic king, symbolizing both victory in chess and the pride of an exceptional collection celebrated worldwide.
The subtle fleur-de-lis evokes the heritage of French craftsmanship and our mission to promote it internationally. The horse, a French saddle horse, nods to the brand's origins.
The knight in full motion, heading to the right, illustrates the desire to propel chess into modernity while drawing inspiration from its historical heritage.
This design blends a historical scene with modern, sleek representation, reflecting our commitment to traditional craftsmanship while embracing modernity. It also represents the ambition of a king in pursuit of the most refined chess set collection.

Our commitment to environmentally responsible and ethical production is at the heart of our values. We work exclusively with companies that adhere to certified labor standards and source our wood from sustainably managed forests. Using wood, a natural material, aligns with our commitments.
Our chess sets, predominantly "Made in the EU," are carefully selected to minimize transportation distances and reduce our ecological footprint. Most of our shipments are centralized from our warehouse in Genay, Rhône-Alpes, ensuring optimal proximity to our customers.
