Les Échiquiers du Roi are delighted to present the Virtuose Chess Set, a refined ensemble designed for those who expect both elegance and performance from a chess set.

Its identity rests on a strong, timeless contrast: natural boxwood and solid ebony. Inspired by the Staunton tradition, its lines are clean, precise and balanced—made for smooth play and for interiors where quality and restraint mattr.

The pieces are hand-carved from natural boxwood and solid ebony (Diospyros ebenum). Weighted and felted, they offer a comfortable, stable and silent glide. The king stands at 3.75 in (9.5 cm), within a complete set of 34 pieces including two extra queens.

The board, handcrafted in Europe from ebony, poplar and stained maple, features impeccable marquetry and a matt finish that enhances the wood grain without glare. Its 19.1 x 19.1 in (50 x 50 cm) format offers a generous, readable playing area, ideal for serious games.
